About my Work

The motives of my work are real places or things which attract
me. By simplifying, I try to reveal essentials. For keeping fresh I oscillate
between simplicity and complexity, abstraction and narration, the ordinary and
the spectacular.
Starting point is the work "on location", where I
either work directly onto the plate or create a detailed design. The realisation
takes place in the studio where I etch or cut and finally print the plates.

Printmaking is indirect: after analyzing, the image is simplified
or split up into several layers/plates, and, by going through different working
steps, reassembled during printing. It is created spontaneously and at the same
time contains the energy of an elaborate process.
Right now I am working on woodblock prints and enjoy the slowness of cutting.
Art values of mine are naturalness, devotion and vitality.
